GFCA Presentation to Aviation Commission
October 6, 2016
This presentation was given by GFCA President Ken Mercer to the Marin County Aviation Commission on October 2, 2016.
Although the purpose of this presentation was to show a comparison of Gnoss Field's amenities, conditions and features with 17 similar airports in Northern California, it progressed into a discussion of airport expenses and questions of how the County plans to cover its' local match of the millions of dollars' worth of improvements planned. As it now stands the County has enough cash reserves on hand to provide the local matches needed through 2018 (runway repair), but not for any projects after that (runway extension, ramp repair, building upgrades, etc.).
The presentation prompted many pertinent questions from the members of the Commission, directed at County DPW.
