JUNE 8-RICK BEACH, radio skilLs for the SF BAY TOUR

At our June 8 GFCA breakfast meeting GFCA Board member and COPA Safety Chair Rick Beach will take a detailed look at the San Francisco Bay Tour, with a focus on the re-configured SFO Class Bravo’s dimensions and VFR transit routes. THIS IS NOT A PAPER-BASED LECTURE like you may have seen elsewhere; Rick will actually ‘fly’ the Bay Tour on Scanlon Aviation’s FlyMe simulator while projecting the simulator views.

Here’s the good part: Rick will include ATC communications recorded during a “live” flight to help you prepare for the more intense radio communications typical of busy airspace. He’ll also share tips, ‘gotchas’ and key landmarks, and you’ll be able to follow along as though you were PIC.

If you haven’t flown the Bay Tour recently this will motivate you to do it soon-it’s a great way to impress your friends and family! And don't forget our famous (but entirely optional) breakfast of fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes, sausages, coffee cake, coffee and juice. Come for the food and camaraderie, stay to learn something and maybe even be entertained!

MAY 11-"ATC BILL” HILL, “HOW WELL DO YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR AIRPLANE?”
