YOUNG EAGLES EVENT FOR JROTC CADETS MAY 20
We’ll be hosting 30-35 cadets from Novato High School’s Junior ROTC program for a Young Eagles’ day on May 20. This group is always fun: they’re excited, nervous, effusive and appreciative all at once. Think you might like to try it out and fly some Young Eagles? You do need to be an EAA National member to fly Young Eagles, but if you’re not already a member call (4153788504) or email me GnossAirport@gmail.com and I’ll get the information I need to set you up with a FREE six-month EAA membership. Even if you don’t want to fly or help out on the ground be sure to stop by and soak in some of the atmosphere, especially the cadets’ youthful enthusiasm.
Truckee-Tahoe Airport Outreach Coordinator in May
We’ll be hosting Katherine Greenwood from the Truckee Tahoe Airport at our breakfast in May. Katherine is the Outreach Coordinator for the airport, and in that role she travels to various airports in California, Oregon and Nevada to talk about the unique challenges and wonderful benefits of flying into TRK. She’ll be talking to us about summer high-altitude flying, the glider operations, and special operating procedures. She’ll also tell us about some of the upgrades they’ve made at the airport recently.
If you fly into Truckee Tahoe or want to, you don’t want to miss this
Welcome to the gfca website
Gnoss Field Community Association (GFCA) was incorporated July 30, 2010 as a non-profit public benefit corporation. GFCA is an IRS 501(c) (3) organization, so donations are tax deductible. Our mission is to promote and protect the interests of Gnoss Field users, tenants, and the community, and to promote the public interest in general aviation, aviation safety and aviation services to the larger Marin community.
The pilots that use Gnoss Field banded together because we believe that by combining our voices we can be heard in ways not possible as individuals acting separately. We included the word community in our name because we think that the public should know that our airport is a valuable resource for everyone, not just pilots.
The airport serves all of Marin County; it hosts the Civil Air Patrol, medical helicopters, Angel Flights and the Sheriff's Department. In addition, Gnoss Field provides a base for flights that serve the local business community. Those of us who base our airplanes at Gnoss make a significant financial contribution to Marin County and to Novato schools through personal property and fuel taxes, hangar rental and tie down fees.
We hope that you find this website useful. Your thoughts and suggestions on how we can make it more helpful are most welcome.
